As technology has evolved from being used in defence to being commercially available for everyday work, it is necessary to understand that true wireless earbuds are just four years old, therefore we should be very careful in making our choices.

Don't Worry,

I am here to help you make that choice. We will try making our choices based on the problems that these companies are trying to solve for us while maintaining an affordable price.

Disclaimer: The post will list out all the wireless earbuds that are under 5000. Wait for the SURPRISE in the end under this price range.

pTron Bassbuds Urban TWS earbuds

pTron, founded by the former CEO of Paired Electronics, entered the market of wireless earbuds in 2014. It is a youth-oriented brand which focuses on releasing a bouquet of standard products at an affordable price to compete in the mid-market segment.

pTron with its initial release of earbuds were shy in putting the features of bass and touch control under the caveat of the price range, but the growing competition has forced them to release the new TWS earbuds with music controls by a gentle touch on the earbud. These earbuds come with 5-hour playtime and 4-hour Talktime with a single charge. The major challenges in the low range earbuds are latency( the time it takes for the audio to reach from your smartphone/laptop to your earbuds) and noise cancellation.

pTron has reduced the effects of latency but the noise cancellation still remains passive. These are the best headphones to start your journey in the wireless world.

boAt Airdopes 441

boAt cofounded by Aman Gupta ( ex-Director of Sales Harman International) and Sameer Ashok Mehta (director of Kores India) was hard to miss with their tactics of influence marketing and brand tie-ins with sports teams and public events.

boAt grew from hiring Indian team players to celebrities as boAtheads to participating in mega-events like Sunburn and Lakme fashion week. boAt released its wireless earbuds range Airdopes and captured the market instantaneously from its product ranging from 1299-4000/-.

boAt Airdopes 441 in comparison to pTron bassbuds offers additional features of IPX6 water resistance and is available in five different colours. So if its aesthetics that drives your buying behaviour and you can adjust on battery life to 3.5h playtime on a single charge, then Airdopes 441 is your product.

Airdopes 441 faces the same issue of mild latency and passive noise cancellation and shows less prospect for improvement.

Phillips Upbeat TAUT102BK

Phillips with its outstanding innovative capabilities and strong global footprint entered the market in December 2019, with the release of its SHB and TAPH on-ear Wireless headphones series.

Phillips gauged the opportunity of true wireless earbuds and launched the upbeat Taut102BK within four months in March 2020. Phillips differentiated itself from pTron and boAt in terms of using mono mode(one single channel audio, where what you hear in the left the same sound is heard in the right earbud), this helps when you are plugged in for long and want to give rest to one ear.

The added features include smart pairing and echo cancellation to solve latency and noise cancellation problems. Phillips service centre is an added advantage to solve any technical issues. It runs on 3 hours of playback on a single charge, good call quality and not so punchy bass.

Lenovo HT10 Pro

Lenovo is known for reimagining technology to enhance and elevate human capability. Lenovo entered the market in September last year with its Lenovo HT10 and established that they are here to stay. Lenovo HT10 Pro released in March proves their capability in the market.

Lenovo HT10 Pro is powered with EQ technology, which works on two frequencies to switch from Pure music used for soothing tracks to Extra bass for the dance numbers by just pressing a single button. HT10 Pro uses the reliable Qualcomm chipset, 8hours of playback time on a single charge and 40 hours with charging case.

Lenovo offers to solve the major problems by intelligent noise cancellations and APT-X technology to reduce audio lag. It checks all the boxes but still doesn't offer touch control.
